Study and Programming of outpatient hospitals

From business plan to roll-out, for an optimal quality of care

SOLVING THE ISSUE OF LOW QUALITY HOSPITAL CARE

For instance, the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa is faced with increasing health issues and inadequate infrastructure, which do not meet the needs of the population. These issues stem from quality of the equipment available, the quality of care, as well as funding difficulties.

However, it is a fundamental right for every citizen to able to benefit from the highest level of health possible. This can only be made possible by improving the quality of the health care available, and the effectiveness of how the health system is funded.

Our solution: Provide high quality and affordable care that meets international standards (France is number 1 in the WHO ranking) in regions such as Africa where demand is high.

OUTPATIENT CARE AS AN ECONOMICAL AND QUALITATIVE SOLUTION

Reducing hospital construction and operating costs requires optimizing hospitals themselves. This is why we are proposing an approach strictly focusing on outpatient hospital care. The costs are thus divided by 4 for the operations and by 20 for the investment.

WHAT IS OUTPATIENT HOSPITAL CARE?

Outpatient hospital care is the provision of treatment in less than 24 hours suitable for functional medical consultations and examinations, and for surgical trauma, digestive, urological, vascular, and ophthalmological treatments as well as for most childbirth situations. This makes it possible to cover nearly 80% of the population’s needs.

Hospitals providing such care do not meet a predefined model. It is fully flexible in terms of services, medical units and their size. This hospital program, created by Altao and its project partners, determines the size of the outpatient hospital during the feasibility study and business plan.

AN OPERATION ORGANIZED IN PHASES FOR EFFECTIVE SUPPORT

We constantly work in close collaboration with public authorities (such as the government of the country where the facility is located) as well as with the various stakeholders and service providers of the project, such as architects, doctors, electricians, and construction workers.

During the development of the project, Altao works in successive phases, as defined with the client. The objective is to build and operate the facility as quickly and efficiently as possible, while having a viable and scalable economic model in place. For example, for a facility in phase 1, it would be possible to carry out diagnosis and consultations at the same quality as in Europe with accredited equipment and teams. Then the facility would evolve during each phase and over time, by incorporating surgery or maternity activities. The size of the hospital would also evolve during each phase.

OUR SERVICES FOR THE STUDY AND PROGRAMMING OF OUTPATIENT HOSPITALS

Business plan and project management

By analyzing the care needs and of the existing care offering in the area where the hospital is located, we are able to define the illnesses likely to be treated, and how widespread they are.

The following elements are described in the business plan:

  • Detailed projected activity by specialty and type of work involved
  • List of services and their optimal pricing
  • Detailed capacity program, i.e. the list of rooms with their surface area and their specific construction features
  • The deployment phases and their implementation
  • Detailed information on staff requirements such as relevant qualifications, and number of full-time staff required
  • Details of specific equipment required (medical and non-medical)
  • Recommended investment and deployment schedule
  • The need for equity and loans
  • The operating account over 5 years

The business plan enables public authorities and state services, as well as national and international investors and donors to prepare themselves for the project. It therefore serves as the main guidelines for the project .

Support and search for partners

We can also help you find and choose partners from any field.

For each partner, this support includes an analysis of the benefits and risks for the hospital, the cost of training and assistance services, etc.

Also, upon your request, we can help you select equipment and supplies, and assist you with the recruitment and training of staff.
